Anna Siskova and Magali Kempen are the Transylvania Open 2025 doubles champions!

Anna Siskova and Magali Kempen are the new doubles champions at the Transylvania Open!

They claimed the title after defeating the duo of Jaqueline Cristian and Angelica Moratelli in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, showing great chemistry and determination.

Cristian and Moratelli started strong, taking a 2-0 lead, but from that moment on, it was all about Siskova and Kempen. Despite playing together for the first time in this tournament, they found their rhythm quickly. For 23-year-old Siskova from the Czech Republic and the more experienced Kempen, this marks their first WTA doubles title. Kempen, 30, kicked off her season in Cluj, making this her first tournament of 2025 after a break since November, when she reached the final in Merida, Mexico.

On their way to the title, Siskova and Kempen took down two seeded teams: second seeds Yana Sizikova and Fanny Stollar in the quarterfinals, and fourth seeds Qianhui Tang and Emily Appleton in the semifinals.

The 5th edition of the Transylvania Open concludes with yet another Romanian reaching the final. Despite the loss, it was still a solid run for Jaqueline Cristian, who, even while battling illness, managed to fight her way to the doubles final. This continues the tradition of Romanian players making deep runs in Cluj, following in the footsteps of Simona Halep (2021, singles), Irina Bara (2021, doubles), Gabriela Ruse (2023, singles), and Ana Bogdan (2024, singles).
