How was the 2023 season for Jaqueline Cristian

In 2023, Jaqueline Cristian played and won a lot of matches. From the beginning of the season until now, Jaqueline has climbed over 200 places in the rankings, currently sitting at 100th in the WTA rankings. Throughout this year, Jaqueline has won three ITF tournaments and reached the semifinals in Prague (WTA 250K), and Bucharest (WTA 125K), as well as other quarterfinals in Bari and Palermo (WTA 125K).

Playing Style

Jaqueline’s tennis is largely based on strength and explosiveness. She is a player who revolves all her plans and ideas around aggression: hitting faster, and harder, taking the ball earlier, putting pressure on opponents right from the return, not giving opponents time, and setting the pace of the matches.

Bigger Picture

After two challenging years, during which she faced injuries and coaching changes, Jaqueline Cristian had to work hard to reach the point where she is now, returning to the top 100 players in the world.

Transylvania Open is a tournament where she has performed at a very high level, especially in the inaugural edition when she reached the quarterfinals. Jaqueline now has another opportunity to advance as far as possible in the draw, in order to solidify and improve her ranking, build confidence, and continue her ascent.
